Forder Valley Interchange

Scheme

Proposals include improving and extending the substandard merge from Forder Valley (Leigham) Roundabout heading north on Forder Valley Road, and adding a new lane heading south on the approach to the roundabout and on the roundabout itself. Pedestrian and cycling facilities will also be enhanced.

The improvements will increase capacity and allow traffic to flow more smoothly, relieving congestion and queueing which currently extends back onto the roundabout circulatory and down the A38 westbound off-slip.

When the work will start?

Work is anticipated to get underway in 2020.

How much it will cost?

The scheme will cost around £8.8 million, with a £5 million contribution from the Department for Transport.
