Site preparation for this meadow was completed in early 2014. In March 2014 Buglife held two planting days with Shakespeare Primary School, Brook Green Centre for Learning and the local community.
The site has been planted with 1800 wild flower plug plants and seeded with wildflower meadow mix. The meadow will be a blaze of colour throughout the summer and buzzing with life. This meadow forms part of Woodland Wood Local Nature Reserve.
The wildflower meadow was created through 'Plymouth's Buzzing', a joint project between Buglife and us, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project involved local schools and communities in conserving bees, butterflies, hoverflies and other pollinating insects.
