Democratic Services contact details:

What do we do?

Democratic Services monitor and support the decision making process of the Council.

As a service at the very heart of the organisation, we are privileged to work closely with not only those with a democratic mandate, but also colleagues from a broad range of services, as well as partners and the public.

We take pride in delivering our services to the highest standard, while striving for continuous improvement and playing a strong role in the wider team that is Plymouth City Council.

Why are deadlines so important to us?

The Local Government Act 1972 and 2000, Localism Act 2011 along with subsequent amendments and regulations governs almost all of the work we do.

It is our role to ensure that our organisation adheres to the requirements of this legislation so that the decisions that the organisation makes are open and transparent, fair and legal.
