The internet and digital technology have revolutionised the way we live, work and connect. The change so far has been rapid and is continuing at pace as technology and ideas evolve.
The way we socialise and connect with others, how we shop, manage our money, and how we find information and seek advice have all been transformed by the Internet. What people expect and want from public services, including the council, is no different. People want to be able to transact and find information, any time day or night, and want the experience to be the same as that for retail, banking or other online services. We also need to recognise that digital is harder for some people and to make sure that those who don't have the access or skills to make the most of digital aren't left behind.
As a council we want to make sure that we're ready for the future, making the most of the benefits of digital and technology for our staff, residents and visitors.
