Charity Status Waste Disposal Registration

As a charity there will be times when you need to dispose of items that have been donated by members of the public but you are unable to sell. These items can be disposed of free of charge over the weighbridge at Chelson Meadow. Before your first visit you need to apply for Charity Status.

All charities are required to register as a waste carrier with the Environment Agency, further information can be found on the Government website or by contacting 08708 506506.

We are only able to accept waste brought in by your organisation and not from a third party.  The waste must be from the Plymouth area, which has been generated by charitable donations for disposal at Chelson Meadow free of charge, this excludes any construction or demolition waste, asbestos and tyres.  Please indicate all waste types you wish to dispose of in detail in the relevant section on the form.

TV’s, CRT fluorescent tubes and fridge/freezer units are classified as hazardous waste and a Hazardous Waste consignment note will need to be filled out.
