Check your collection day
Coronavirus (COVID-19): Information about bins, recycling and waste
Your bin/bags will be collected on an alternate weekly basis with one week brown and the other week green.
Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) we will not be resuming the garden waste collection scheme in April. Please see the Coronavirus information page for the latest information.
For more information on the garden waste scheme please click here.
If you would like to know when your next collection is due in your area, please click the button below.
When to put your bins/bags out
Please put your bins/bags on the kerbside from 6.30pm the night before your collection day and return your bins/bags to within your property boundary before midnight on the day of your collection.
Please only use Plymouth City Council bags and not black bags.
Your bins will be collected one day later than usual if there's a bank holiday.
Community collection points
Some areas of the city have community collection points with community bins for waste and recycling. These are collected and emptied as and when it is required.
Help to put out your bins/bags
If you can't put your bins/bags out due to a disability, and there's no-one in your home to help, you might be able to get an assisted collection.
Reporting a missed bin or bag collection
If your bin/bag has not been collected on your normal bin collection day please let us know within 2 days so we can arrange a recollection.
If you haven't reported a missed collection in time we will collect your bins on the next scheduled date. Alternatively you can take the waste to either of our recycling centres Chelson Meadow and Weston Mill.
