Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership

Devon - Plymouth - Somerset - Torbay

Delivering growth and prosperity across Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay

The Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSW LEP) was formed under the leadership of the private sector, supported by the local authorities from Devon, Plymouth, Somerset and Torbay, to create a powerful economic alliance.

Its vision is to lead and influence economic growth, job creation and prosperity across the Heart of the South West.

Strategic Economic Plan

The HotSW LEP has recently submitted to Government its Strategic Economic Plan, which sets out plans for economic growth and job creation between now and 2030, and a “Growth Deal” which will be used to secure a share of the Government’s £2bn/year Growth Fund. Plymouth has played a leading role in the preparation of these documents which have the potential to deliver investment in Plymouth and the South West on a transformational scale, including seeking £332m of investment to deliver 59,000 new jobs, 76,000 new homes and to leverage £370m of further monies.

The LEP’s proposals have a key focus on investing in transport, housing, skills and business growth, as well as building on the opportunities presented through the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal.
