We’re committed to making sure that all our libraries and services are first class to best support and serve every community in the city. Whether you visit one of our 11 libraries, access our digital library or see us out and about in the community, we promise you a friendly and professional experience.

Our promise to you

We’ll promote a love of reading

We offer a wide selection of printed books in all our libraries, and eBooks and digital magazines to download. Whether you’re reading for pleasure, studying, researching, part of a book group or taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge there is something for you.

We’ll help you get online

You can access computers for free or make use of our Wi-Fi using your own device. Whether you’re accessing public services, looking for work, researching your family history or learning how to code, our friendly staff are here to help and support you.

We’ll listen to you

We welcome your comments and suggestions and will act on your feedback. Take part in our annual customer survey, speak to a member of staff or contact us at: plymouth.gov.uk/libraries

We increase access to cultural activities

From 'rhymetimes' and craft clubs to author talks and theatre experiences, we provide opportunities for everyone to develop their creative side.

We help you lead happy and healthier lives

Our libraries offer a safe non-clinical space where people can go to meet up with others, attend an activity, find information, or simply to see a friendly face. You can access trusted information.
