Useful information about person-centred planning and tools, including one page profiles, can be found on the Sheffield City Council and Helen Sanderson Associates websites - Helen Sanderson Associates have also produced a helpful YouTube video.

Person-centred reviews

A person centred review is carried out by a known adult but it is essential that the child or young person is involved.

The child or young person's participation is actively supported so that they have a central role in their review, having their views clearly represented and understood. Where possible, the child or young person should be encouraged and supported to attend and contribute to the meeting. Where this may not be possible they may choose to express their views though their 'Champion' or through other means such as a PowerPoint presentation or drawings and pictures.

Each review should be tailored to the child or young person's individual needs and situation.

Additional information, video clips and resources around Person Centred Reviews can be found on the Helen Sanderson Associates and Family Footings websites.

For children and young people with significant communication difficulties, information and examples of practice from the Talking Mats website may be helpful.

Plymouth schools can gain further support around and training in the use of person centred planning from their Educational Psychologist or the Plymouth Excellence Cluster.
