
Plymouth Safeguarding Adult Partnership - PSAP is working with Livewell Southwest’s Training Network to provide Adult Safeguarding awareness training.
Book either an in-person or online training session on the Livewell SW Training Network Bookwhen website.
PSAP adult safeguarding training is free, transferable between settings and valid for 3 years. A certificate will be provided.
Adult Safeguarding awareness training (4 hours)
Who is this for?
Anyone working within the Plymouth City Council boundary who come into contact with adults at risk; care homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care agencies, statutory agencies, voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, housing providers, personal assistants, police, etc.
It is recommended you attend adult safeguarding training every three years.

- What is abuse?
- Who is an adult at risk?
- How to recognise signs and circumstances of abuse, neglect and self-neglect?
- How to report concerns?
- Through the use of scenarios provide an opportunity for questions and shared discussion
Safeguarding Managers training (4 hours)
Who is this for?
To attend this training you have completed Adult Safeguarding awareness training. Are employed in a management or supervisory role. Work or responsible for services within the Plymouth City Council boundary.
Course content
- Refresh safeguarding principles
- Explore legal framework
- Highlight national guidance & local safeguarding procedures
- Confirm responsibilities of multi-agency working and information sharing
- Gain confidence in understanding your responsibilities using scenarios and discussion
- Opportunity to ask questions, share experiences and contribute to service improvement and development
Adult Safeguarding eLearning
The ‘Adult Safeguarding for All’ learning module, outlines how you can play an important part in helping to prevent abuse and neglect of adults with care and support needs. This course is suitable for everyone who might find themselves in a safeguarding situation, not just for those in a care sector role.
It should take you around 20 minutes to complete this module. Action points are included to help your ongoing learning, and an end-of-module quiz will check your knowledge and understanding.
You will be asked to sign in as a guest and provide some basic information prior to accessing this free course.
