Dementia information

We work closely with the health service to make sure that we are providing the right kind of information, advice and support for people with dementia and their carers.

Worried about your memory?

If you are concerned about your memory, or the memory of someone else, you can discuss this with your GP who may refer you to the NHS Memory Service. They will be able to discuss your worries and if necessary find out if you have dementia. There may also be some medication that could help.

The document below is a guide to help you cope if you have problems with your memory or care for someone who does.

Information for carers

For information on the range of services that exist to support people who care for someone else please visit the Plymouth Online Directory.

Dementia friendly toolkit

We have developed a dementia friendly toolkit to help local organisations become more aware of the needs of people living with dementia and their carers.

Dementia Quality Mark

The Dementia Quality Mark is an accreditation process for Care Homes that provide a Dementia Service. The Dementia Quality Mark can help families wanting to select a care home, giving them reassurance that the care being given meets the needs of those with dementia, and confidence that on-going improvements in practice will lead to better outcomes for those receiving care. Homes awarded with the quality mark are highlighted on the Plymouth Online Directory website.

For more information please visit our dementia quality mark page.
