The employee assistance programme provides practical information, resources and counselling and advice to help you balance your work, family and personal lives.
This programme is available to all employees and will offer free, confidential and independent support.
There is a vast range of topics covered including:

- Consumer rights
- Bullying and harassment
- Travel
- Finance and advice
- Health and fitness assessment tools
- Stress and anxiety
- Family matters
- Legal advice
- Health advice
A username and password is required to access the Employee Assistance Programme website, which is available from healthandsafety@plymouth.gov.uk.
Referring an employee to the Employee Assistance Programme
Self referral
This requires no involvement from your manager and is the most common way that employees access the employee assistance programme. Simply call 0800 882 4102, email counselling@pamassist.co.uk or visit the Employee Assistance Programme website to access resources and instant message an expert.
Informal management referral
Managers can encourage staff to contact the Employee Assistance Programme if an individual has approached them in distress or with a concern.
Formal management referral
If a manager thinks an employee may benefit support from the Employee Assistance Programme, they can formally refer them to the service by completing the referral form below.
Send the referral form to counselling@pamassist.co.uk and in the ‘Subject’ box enter: [SECURE] Referral form from ‘your name’.
Examples of management referral
- Employee displaying unusual behaviour (such as turning up late for work)
- A drop in workplace performance
- Provide assistance in helping them return to work after a long absence
