The Plymouth Plan for Sport has been created in partnership with the Plymouth Sports Board to provide the strategic direction for the development of sport within Plymouth. It has been guided by the policies within the Plymouth Plan and has been developed to encourage collaboration and guide the work of anyone involved in the planning and delivery of sport in the city.
The plan outlines the city's ambition to have the most active population in the South West by 2034 with a mix of quality sports clubs, top class facilities, active schools and accessible community opportunities for sport and physical activity, and has three main themes:
Participation – getting people active for life
Places – promoting and improving spaces where people can play sport
Pride – strengthening the reputation for elite sport, events, tourism and economic development
