Torpoint Ferry

The Torpoint Ferry crosses the Tamar between Plymouth in Devon (PL1 4FL) and Torpoint in Cornwall (PL11 2AX). We jointly own the crossing with Cornwall Council. There's a charge for vehicles paid on the Torpoint to Plymouth crossing. Pedestrians and cyclists are free.

Mount Batten Ferry

The Mount Batten Ferry has resumed operation and is running a reduced timetable. Please visit the Mount Batten Ferry website for full details.

The Mount Batten water taxi runs from and to:

  • the Barbican Pontoon next to the Mayflower Steps on the Barbican (PL1 2LR)
  • the jetty next to the pub at Mount Batten (PL9 9SJ)

There's a charge to use this pedestrian ferry. Bicycles are also carried.

Cremyll Ferry

We own the ancient right to run a ferry between Admirals Hard at Stonehouse (PL1 3RJ) and Cremyll in Cornwall (PL10 1HX). The service is provided by The Cremyll Ferry, which is run by Plymouth Boat Trips.

There's a charge to use this pedestrian ferry, which provides access to Mount Edgcumbe. Bicycles and small packages are also carried.

Cawsand Ferry

The Cawsand Ferry runs between April and October from and to:

  • the Barbican Pontoon next to the Mayflower Steps on the Barbican (PL1 2LR) 
  • Cawsand beach in Cornwall (PL10 1PF)

There's a charge to use this pedestrian ferry. Bicycles are also carried.

The service is run by Plymouth Boat Trips.

Barbican, Royal William Yard and Mount Edgcumbe Ferry

The Barbican, Royal William Yard and Mount Edgcumbe Ferry runs between April and October from and to

  • the Barbican Pontoon next to the Mayflower Steps on the Barbican (PL1 2LR)
  • the Royal William Yard (PL1 3RP) then on to Cremyll in Cornwall (PL10 1HX)

There’s a charge to use this pedestrian ferry. Bicycles are also carried.

The service is run by Plymouth Boat Trips.
