Procurement Service - Climate Emergency Statement

On 18 March 2019, City of Plymouth councillors voted unanimously to declare a climate emergency, we committed to meeting the most significant challenge facing our city and our planet.

The enormity of what we must achieve cannot be understated and Plymouth City Council cannot solve climate change alone, we must all play our part.

Procurement has a key role to play in addressing this challenge. We must consider the environment in all procurement activity, where relevant and proportional to ensure our external contracts deliver our emergency response strategy and support our target of carbon neutrality by 2030.

As a supplier to Plymouth City Council you / your organisation may be required to commit to minimum environmental standards in the delivery of a contract and may be assessed against environmental-based criteria at both the selection and award stages of a Procurement process.

If appropriate you may be expected to, for example:

Specification
Selection
Award
Contract Management

The Procurement Service thanks you in advance for your understanding and co-operation.
