Early Years Welfare and Child Protection Review

The Early Years Welfare and Child Protection Review is a non statutory monitoring tool based on the EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements. This tool is to assist and support providers in assessing the extent to which their practice meets and embeds the Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements within the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Once completed it will support settings with their individual audit of policies and procedures and will establish whether their practice is meeting the EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements and other legal duties that are separate from those in the EYFS.

These tools have been designed to help providers to self-evaluate their child protection and welfare procedures and policies.

It is an opportunity to reflect on practice and identify action points that need to be included in the settings action plan. It is good practice, to ensure that all practitioners contribute to the review.

Questions should be answered honestly, as this will form the bases of the settings action plan.

Please note that the review can be revisited at any time and you can save progress along the way, before submitting the form.

Once completed, The Early Years Welfare and Child Protection Review can be downloaded for your records.

A support document is available. To request a copy of the latest welfare review guidance document and some additional support or advice contact a member of the team on 01752 307400 or email [email protected].
