As part of the Care Journeys partnership between Plymouth City Council and Barnardo's, we have a Text Alert service for all care experienced young people in Plymouth.
To receive these messages we would like to share your contact details with the team at Barnardo’s Care Journeys. We will then text you with updates about free fun activities and upcoming events you can get involved with as well as updates and any new services or opportunities (these messages may come from Barnardos or the PAs or both!).
Care Journeys is a partnership between your Social Workers/PAs and Barnardos; we are a supportive and welcoming team, we aim to create change and make it more likely for care experienced young people to reach positive destinations. For example, in the last few months we have had a trip to Mount Edgcumbe, a pizza making session, an introduction to outdoor swimming at the Lido and regular group sessions. You will only receive texts relevant to you and we promise not to bombard you. If at any point you decide you no longer want to receive the texts, you can simply text them or let us know and they would then remove your details from their database.
Get added to the text service
If you consent, we would then pass on your Name, Age and Phone number. This information will then be securely held on the Barnardo’s system. Please let your PA know or email the duty inbox dutycareleavers@plymouthcc.onmicrosoft.com with the following information asking to be included in the text service:
