Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. The week also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

We are committing to supporting carers to access the help they need to keep themselves in good physical and mental wellbeing.  This will enable them to maintain their caring role and, when appropriate, help them to relinquish some aspects of their caring role.

Our commissioned services for adult carers called Caring for Carers provides a range of advice guidance help and support for unpaid carers.

We also have help and support for young carers in Plymouth which is delivered by children’s charity Barnado’s and our own youth services team.
