International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia was founded in 2004. It aims to raise awareness of the challenges and discrimination facing people who identify as LGBT+. Further information is available on our understanding our communities page.

Recognising that LGBT+ individuals and communities still face barriers and challenges, within Plymouth there are several support organisations in the city which include:

Not Alone

Not Alone Plymouth provides support and advice for transgender and non-binary people in Plymouth. It has been set up to provide a safe place for sharing thoughts and feelings for those who need it.

The Intercom Trust

The Intercom Trust supports the LGBT+ community across the South West. They are currently running a monthly support and social group for members of the LGBT+ community in Plymouth which aims to reduce isolation amongst people who are over 50. View the Eventbrite website for more information and to join the group.

Out Youth Group Plymouth
