Marsh Mills is a key section of the MRN and is one of the junctions where the MRN meets the Strategic Road Network (SRN) in the form of the A38. This is the main gateway for visitors to Plymouth, as well as the main route for commuters from the eastern part of the city accessing the city centre and the waterfront. Improvements are proposed for the junction as well as the approaches to it.
The scheme includes localised road widening to increase capacity and improve the operation of the junction, helping to reduce delays and journey times. Improvements to the cycling and walking infrastructure will also be delivered to support greater travel by these modes.
