Great British Spring Clean

Join the pick!

Love where you live and get involved in the country’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign.

Around 2.25 million pieces of litter are dropped every day in the UK. Litter doesn’t just make the place look untidy, it also harms wildlife and about 80% of plastics in the ocean actually come from litter dropped inland.

Together, we can make a massive difference. All our individual actions whether big or small can help to transform our city for the better, creating cleaner streets, parks, and beaches, protecting our wildlife.

Keep Britain Tidy

Join Keep Britain Tidy and our community litter pickers on the #MillionMileMission to clear litter from our streets, parks, and beaches.

Visit the Keep Britain Tidy website for lots of information and advice on how to get involved. You can Pledge to pick or you can find out where a litter pick is happening near you. There are lots of events by local community groups like Clean our Patch or the Plymouth Beach Clean Volunteers to get in on.  You can sign up to host your own litter pick event too whether it's public or private.

Information and equipment

We can provide bags, hoops, and pickers. There is a limited supply of equipment to lend so if you need equipment or bags you can request these using the form at the bottom of this page.

We've also put together some helpful information and advice for you to consider before you get started.

Arrange a collection of waste after your litter pick

The waste you've collected should only be removed by a registered waste carrier. You can arrange this with us in advance using the form below.
