Personal licence holder - Level 2

This course provides learners with the necessary learning to complete the Level 2 Award for Personal License Holders. This includes a full overview of alcohol licensing; applying for an alcohol license; alcohol and its effects; personal license holder responsibilities, protecting vulnerable people from alcohol; working in partnership; licensing for temporary events and understanding prohibitions and exemptions.

Course content

  • Identify the benefits to society for Licensing legislation
  • Identify the key provisions of the 2003 Licensing Act
  • Differentiate between a personal and premises license
  • Identify which premises and individuals require a license
  • Explain what a temporary events notice is
  • State the body responsible for issuing licenses
  • Outline the responsibilities of the Premises License Holder, Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) and Personal License Holder
  • List the benefits of holding a personal license
  • State the period of validity for personal and premises licenses
