This course provides learners with the necessary learning to complete the Level 2 Award for Personal License Holders. This includes a full overview of alcohol licensing; applying for an alcohol license; alcohol and its effects; personal license holder responsibilities, protecting vulnerable people from alcohol; working in partnership; licensing for temporary events and understanding prohibitions and exemptions.
Course content
- Identify the benefits to society for Licensing legislation
- Identify the key provisions of the 2003 Licensing Act
- Differentiate between a personal and premises license
- Identify which premises and individuals require a license
- Explain what a temporary events notice is
- State the body responsible for issuing licenses
- Outline the responsibilities of the Premises License Holder, Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) and Personal License Holder
- List the benefits of holding a personal license
- State the period of validity for personal and premises licenses
