Consultation on school admission arrangements 2022/2023

Consultation on school admission arrangements for the 2021 to 2022 academic year

Plymouth City Council has requested a variation for the admission arrangements for the 2021-2022 academic year in relation to the 11-Plus.

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have received guidance from the DFE in relation to the 11-Plus and how it should be administered. Plymouth City Council has now received the outcome from the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA) and the Regional Schools Commissioners Office (RSC) in relation to the proposed variation that was submitted for the admission arrangements 2021/2022 academic year. The submission has been approved as appropriate.

Consultation on school admission arrangements for the 2022 to 2023 academic year

Each year, schools must decide on their admission arrangements for the coming year. If the arrangements change, there must be a public consultation before the arrangements are decided upon. The Council is holding a consultation on behalf of Plymouth maintained, voluntary aided and trust schools. We would like your views on the admission proposed arrangements. The admission arrangements will include things like how places are allocated, the number of places schools have and how they will decide how to prioritise applications if there are more applications for the school than there are places available.

If you would like to know more about the legal background to the consultation and would like to know which schools we are consulting for, please read the background document.

The consultation will run from Monday 7 December 2020 and will close on Sunday 17 January 2021.
