Commuting and business travel can also add to your business’s footprint. The following actions can help reduce your emissions from travel:
- switching to electric and hybrid vehicles for your business
- encourage working from home, virtual meetings, or where necessary low-carbon options, such as trains or buses
- encouraging or implementing car share schemes, cycle to work schemes, or other options such as walking to work
- there are also tools available to help demonstrate the cost of upgrading your transport fleet. These are available from organisations such as the Carbon Trust and the Energy Trust
- you may also be eligible for tax benefits from the Government. This includes plug-in car grants to help reduce the cost of electric vehicles, as well as several tax allowances for low emission cars
