The current phase of the project has been designed to test new approaches to how a site is managed that engages the work force and the community in the activities to test how best to transform delivery over the entire estate and benefit visitor experience.
Over this phase we plan to:
- Roll out a Dedicated Operations Team (DOT) for each pilot site (Central Park, Devonport Park, Plymouth Hoe) to start in November 2019. The DOTs will meet fortnightly as a whole to share best practice; challenges and act as advocates for the GEMS project.
- Identify training needs for staff and volunteers, to enable the development of a bespoke training package, including community engagement and digital tech skills.
- Review operations schedules to inform new ways of working to utilise machinery and workforce across the city more efficiently
- Pilot a new approach to the operational management of the green estate on the three sites pilot sites
- Trial new activities and approaches within the pilot sites with the aim of diversifying visitors and adding vibrancy to the space.
