Bulmer road tunnel barrier improvement

The proposal replaces the existing barriers (shown as red in the image) at the south end of the tunnel with three bollards at both ends of the tunnel. This creates a wider gap to allow mobility scooters and disability adapted cycles to pass through, while still helping to slow cyclists entering the tunnel. A “no motor vehicles” sign at each end of the tunnel to legally prohibit motorcycles is also proposed.

The proposals are intended to improve accessibility for users of wheelchairs, mobility scooters, adapted cycles, pushchairs, cargo bikes and bike trailers.
