St Mary's park market road entrance barrier improvement

The proposal replaces the barriers at the corner of the playing field (location A) and the Market Road entrance (location C) with concrete-filled heavy duty bollards in 70cm deep concrete foundations to help ensure no unauthorised vehicle access.  The barriers in the middle (location B) would be removed as these would no longer be needed to prevent unauthorised vehicle access. The proposals remove the current pinch points reducing conflict between pedestrians and cyclists, allowing larger mobility scooters and disability adapted cycles to pass through comfortably, while still helping to slow cyclists.

St Mary Park Market Road Barrier Improvement

The proposals are intended to improve accessibility for users of wheelchairs, mobility scooters, adapted cycles, pushchairs, cargo bikes and bike trailers whist the heavy duty bollards would make it harder for unauthorised vehicles to gain access to the park.
