Area Action Plans
Area Action Plans (AAPs) are planning policy documents which deliver significant changes in key growth areas and which conserve the city's historic assets. This is done by setting a planning framework made up of objectives, policies and proposals for each area.
They are central to the delivery of Plymouth's Local Development Framework. The Core Strategy was adopted 23 April 2007 and sets out the policies and proposals that direct development in the city's waterfront regeneration areas as well as in the major Core Strategy opportunity sites located along Plymouth's Eastern and Northern Corridors.
The following Area Action Plans have been adopted:
- Central Park
- City Centre and University
- Millbay and Stonehouse
- North Plymstock (including minerals)
- Sutton Harbour
Area Action Plans not being progressed:
- Derriford and Seaton (found unsound, but not withdrawn)
In addition to these Area Action Plans, Development Plan Documents (DPDs) are being prepared for the remainder of the city through:
