The public examination

An independent Planning Inspector will examine the plan to see if it has been written and developed in the proper way, in other words, whether it is sound. All comments made during the six week consultation period will be considered by the Inspector, and a public examination will be held on 6 and 7 February 2008. The representations received during the consultation period are detailed in the document below.

The timetable for the public examination can be found below. The Inspector has issued a guidance note for those appearing at the examination and there is a further note, following the pre examination meeting that was held on 14 November 2007. Both of these are also listed below.

Those appearing at the examination have been asked to submit any further statements by 21 December 2007. Our statements must be submitted by 15 January 2008. These documents will be listed below when they become available.

This preferred options report has been produced as part of the second stage of preparing Plymouth's Local Development Framework (LDF). It sets out the proposed policy directions for public consultation.

It will be a material consideration in the planning application process. Where there is a conflict between the preferred policy direction set out in this preferred options report and the provisions of Plymouth's First Deposit Local Plan, this reports will take precedence.

There's also a sustainability appraisal which accompanies this document.
